Procedure for Conduct of End Semester Examinations:

  • Examination application form shall be made available to eligible students having minimum 75% attendance through the student’s portal.

  • A student who is appearing for any examination for the first time in a particular semester is required to pay examination fee for all subjects.

  • A student who is appearing for any examination as a repeater has a choice to appear for any number of subjects.

  • The examination fee once paid shall not be refunded.

  • If a candidate fails to pay examination fee for a particular semester then he / she shall not be promoted to continue further semester and thus will have to re-admit for that semester in a subsequent academic year.

  • Admission Tickets shall indicate all the subjects along with course codes, date and time of examination.

  • There shall be Theory and Practical examinations at the end of each semester as prescribed in the Scheme of Examinations.

  • A Practical examination for 25 marks shall be conducted in the presence of both internal and external examiners before theory examinations. The duration of practical exam shall be 2 hours and exam shall not be conducted without the presence of external examiner.

  • The statement of marks sheet and the answer books of practical examinations shall be sent to the CoE by the Chief Superintendent immediately after the completion of practical examinations.

  • The candidate shall submit the record book for practical examination duly certified by the teacher in charge of the course and the HoD/staff in-charge. However practical record book shall not be awarded any marks at the time of practical examination.

  • A theory exam shall be conducted for 60 marks with a duration of 2 hours and 30 minutes.

  • For 30 marks theory exam the time allotted shall be 1 hour 30 minutes.

  • If a student has paid examination fee and remains absent in all papers, then it shall be treated as an “attempt”.

  • A candidate who has failed in ODD / EVEN semester subjects can make an attempt to appear for arrear subjects only during ODD / EVEN Semester for both theory and practical subjects.

  • Improvement / Make up examinations will be conducted only for final semester of UG/ PG

  • For PG courses End Semester theory Examination will be conducted for 70 marks

Grant of Extra Time in examinations to differently-able Students and appointment of scribe.

  • During examinations, an additional time is granted for students who are handicap and cannot write exams in normal speed and for blind students to dictate answers to scribe.

  • The nature of the handicap must be such as it seriously affects the candidate’s speed of writing.

  • The candidate must produce a certificate from the concerned District Surgeon/Medical Officer, clearly spelling out the nature of the handicap or extent of defect which affects the speed of writing.

  • The candidate must submit an application at least 2 months before the commencement of examination with medical certificate to the Principal/Head of the Department for considering the handicap and his / her assessment of the writing. Performance of the candidate as observed repeatedly at the institution must also be taken into consideration.

  • Any person, suggested by the differently able examinee for appointment as scribe to write the examination and who is not writing the same examination as the differently able examinee is writing and also who is not studying in the higher class of the same course, may be appointed by the Principal/Head of the Department.

  • The scribe to be appointed by Principal shall submit no relation certificate stating that the candidate who is writing the examination does not have any relation with the scribe.

  • When a scribe is appointed for a blind student for the examination, a scribe pursuing same degree/ a graduate or postgraduate in the same discipline shall not be permitted to write exams as a scribe.

  • Answer booklets of specially abled candidates seeking additional time or scribe appointed shall have green sticker sticked on the answer booklet by the room invigilator provided from CoE office which helps evaluators to identify that booklet belongs to a specially abled during the evaluation and evaluate the scripts with additional care.

  • The Principal/Head of the Department may grant permission as stated above and intimate the same to the CoE.

Instruction to the Candidates

    • Candidates shall bring their admission tickets / hall tickets on all days of the examination failing which they will not be permitted to enter the examination hall.

    • If the admission ticket /hall ticket is lost, then they should immediately submit an application for a duplicate hall ticket to the CoE through the Principal.

    • Candidates must be present inside the examination hall 10 minutes before the scheduled time.

    • Candidates are not allowed to bring any refreshments inside the examination hall except water bottle.

    • Candidates will not be permitted to enter the examination hall after 30 minutes of the commencement of the examination.

    • Candidate is not permitted to leave the examination hall within 45 minutes of the commencement of the examination. Any candidate who leaves the examination hall after 45 minutes should handover answer booklet and question paper to the invigilator. Once after leaving the examination hall, the candidate will not be permitted to re-enter the examination hall for writing the exams.

    • Candidates must not write anything on the given question papers except their register numbers

    • Before signing the Invigilator’s diary, check if the Barcode number issued by the invigilator on the Answer Booklet against your Register Number is same or not, if in case the barcode number is not the same then immediately bring it to the notice of the invigilator.

    • Before writing the exam, check if there are any damages / defects in the Answer Booklet. If any defect is found in the Main Answer Booklet / Additional Sheet, immediately bring it to the notice of the invigilator.

    • Do not write register number or name anywhere in the Answer Booklet / Additional sheet.

    • Do not detach / tear any paper / sheet from the answer booklet

    • Indicate correct question number in the left side of the margin while writing the answers

    • Obtain permission from the invigilator for change of PEN/INK.

    • Candidates must write examination using Blue/Black pen only. No other color pens should be used for writing the examinations.

    • All rough work should be made on a particular page with the heading ROUGH WORK and cross it.

    • Score off all the blank pages left in the answer books or additional sheet at the end of the examination.

    • If any candidate wants to make any request to the room invigilator, the candidate should not shout or leave the place instead just stand up to attract his/her attention. The invigilator will come to the candidate.

    • During the examination, if the candidate wants to go out for restroom, then inform the same to the invigilator and handover the answer booklet and question paper to the invigilator for safe custody.

    • Candidate is required to handover the question paper to the room invigilator in case he/she leaves the examination hall before the closing of examination. If any candidate refuses to handover question paper then such candidates shall not be allowed to appear for subsequent examination/days and the same shall be reported to Chief Superintendent and CoE.

    • After the completion of exam, count the number of pages used in the main answer booklet and additional sheet and write in the first sheet of the main answer book and hand over to the invigilator

VIOLATIONS of the following rules will lead to an act of Malpractice and disciplinary action will be taken against the candidate.

  • Impersonation
  • Breach of Silence
  • Use of any books, papers, manuscripts, mobile phones and other electronic gadgets in the examination hall.
  • Copying from answer books of other candidates or from other
  • Passing answer books or additional sheets to fellow candidates inside the examination
  • Talking or signaling to other
  • Tearing off or insertion of any other sheets to the main answer booklet and additional
  • Writing an appeal or request to the valuator in the answer
  • Marking of any religious symbols / any signs on answer booklet
  • Carrying of the answer books or additional sheets out of the examination hall during or after the examination.
